Housing Program
The Puentes housing program is a vital element in the organization's strategy to empower and help advance the Latino community. Through the housing program, Puentes advocates on housing issues, educates the community about the homebuying process, provides counseling for first-time homebuyers, and explores strategies for developing affordable housing in our area.
Our very first initiative is the first time homebuyer training classes, which began in May, 2008. We teach the classes in Spanish so that our community has the opportunity to learn the intricacies of the homebuying process. As a partner with Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Greater New Orleans (CCCSNO), we provide their twelve-hour certified homebuyer training curriculum, allowing our students to take advantage of municipal, state and private first time homebuyer assistance opportunities.
Puentes ofrece clases para primero compradores de vivienda en español. Con el apoyo de CCCSNO, las clases se ofrecen en varias areas de la ciudad seis veces al año. Más abajo pueden ver nuestro programa de las próximas clases.
